The Man with a Soul

Dedicated to all the corporate folks, esp the IT guys who spend most of their long working hours wondering why they are doing the job.

I went in search,
in search of a man,
who lived with a soul,
in this mob of madness.

Wandering through the jungle,
people go crazy over goals,
goals that lead to,
a moment of happiness,
and a night of pain.

I still ain't met a man,
a man with a soul.

Friends and randomness...

It's been a long time since some crap has been added here and shall take this opportunity to thank my friends who made me happy reading my blog -- it really inspires me to write!!

This is a small tribute to the amazing friends I have known all these years.

The shine on ur face, removes the darkness;
The feel of ur presence, makes me smile;
Oh dear friend, I miss u a lot

With an idle mind becoming more and more devilish with each passing day, I just made this 'random' assumption of estimating the no. of new friends as a gaussian function!! (holy crap)

Grad and MBA days are when we make loads of friends and the rate of increase decreases with every new job.. hmm.

Date with a heroine...

Well as the title says, yesterday night I had an accidental date with this beautiful heroine :D :D. Her name is Nisha Agarwal and is also the sister of another hot heroine and my fav Kajal Agarwal.

Yesterday night, I was waiting for my friends in a five star restaurant in Hyd. This pretty girl walked into the hall and took the table, next to mine. 15 mins passed, and still no one else at her table, I thought why not start a conversation to kill some time. So, went to her table, sat there and started speaking on college days. I spoke about the MBA days at 'K' and she spoke about her schooling and college days. During the conversation, I came to know that she is a heroine. :O :O She is emotional, humble and it was one of the best conversations I ever had!!. We spoke for around 30mins before my friends joined us.

Thats the filmi version and the true version goes like this -- she indeed is a heroine and sister of Kajal Agarwal, and is the leading lady in an upcoming telugu film "Veele". Met her, the yesterday night during the marriage ceremony at hyd. Went to her mom to take pemission for a pic with Nisha and before I could finish, Nisha Agarwal stood besides me. Man, shez hot & love that beautiful smile. Hope the filmi version was the real one!!

Maaya chesindi...

There are have been so many ravishing reviews about this recent telugu flick "Ye Maaya Chesave" or "Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya" (in tamil). Most telugus and tamilians might have watched this movie, so this is for all those people who wish to watch a good love story. This film tickled my senses, it a damn simple and sweet love story.

The story is about a Hyderabadi guy who falls in love at first sight with a keralite girl. He brushes aside the issues of inter-religion and also of the fact that the girl is 2 yrs elder to him. She initially treats him as a friend but the hero doesn't like that and proposes her.

So, if you are thinking what's great about this story, then its just an ordinary love story which might happen with anyone. Its great because it says never go back on your love. It will definitely come back if its destined to you. Watch this movie, such movies rarely happen in real!! Also the music by ARR is just awesome and some of the best photography ever.

Good Moments...

It's that time of the year when the bike speedometer ticks at the left end, when the walks become longer than usual, you wish to sit in the class, exams no longer become a pain in the a**, start liking the mess food and that's when you realize these times are never going to come back.

Some of the memorable moments were

-- Shouting so loudly that the entire hostel knows about the status of FIFA match scores.
-- When the ITC, Paragon guys used to say "Sir, plz don't laugh loudly" and almost immediately there would be another outburst :D.
-- Those short distance running from K2-hostel (old entrance) to the D-block during monsoons.
-- When a supposedly short travel to Ootupura on a heavily raining day, resulted in a trip to Tushagiri falls.
-- When at 4AM, you say "Ranjith, aur ek maggi yaar" (hot maggi & cold breeze make an awesome combination)
-- Clap the bench whenever Claire Backlet used to speak (sad that she spoke rarely)
-- Invention of new hindi gaali with my 'perfect' hindi
-- When Manish used to repeatedly sing these three words "Chod ke aana" with his sweet voice for almost 3 months. Fu** him.
-- The innumerable outings, trips; walking sessions & coffee beans experiences.
-- When the lungi was about to slip during the Onam festival
-- When police caught me 6 times and never bothered to ask about my license :D :D

Small moments...

He drinks during the whole night; he is vociferous and curses fate for losing all the money earlier in the day. He lost a whole 1 million $ in stocks during the day and with that he lost all his clients that he earned during the last 2 years. With another bottle of vodka tucked in his coat, he ventures out into the open and goes to the railway station. He takes the ticket to the last station of an unknown journey.

The train comes to a halt at the station and its doors open. He waywardly enters the compartment and looks around. It's empty except for the lone blonde sitting at the end of the compartment. He stares at her and takes a seat near to her. He takes out the bottle of vodka and because of the sudden halt, the bottle slips and breaks on the floor. He then feels a soft touch on his back.

She caught hold of him before he was falling down and puts him back on the seat. After some silence, she initiates a conversation about the beautiful sky and the twinkling stars. He obviously isn't interested and gives random stares at her. She passionately speaks with her angel like voice about her childhood, her college life and the best moments of her life. Uninterested till then, the mention of the word Paris ignited some feelings in him.

Apart from stocks, he loved Paris for its architecture and always there was some charm associated with the city. Slowly he gets interested in the talk and he too shares some of his happy experiences. He starts to feel good and the talk goes on for a few hours. They start to have feelings for each other & a look into each other's eyes is accompanied by a sweet blush.

They gently kiss each other and then she gives a beautiful smile at him. He closes his eyes in happiness and says "I love you". There's no response and when he opens his eyes, she isn't there. He looks down and she's battling for her life. He gets down fast and takes her in her arms. She looks at him for one last time and dies. He's shocked. He then tumbles upon something in her coats and finds medical transcriptions. He quits stocks and becomes an architect and she becomes his inspiration.

Moral: Love is all about the small moments. Memories don't leave easily.

Top 5...

These are the 5 best movies according to me that I would watch any no. of times at any point of time. These are the classics which every producer wants to make, every director wants to direct and every artist wishes to be associated.

1. Shawshank Redemption
Probably the best movie across all genre, it tells about the tale of a person who spent 2 decades of his life in prison. The character of Andy Dufresne is subtle in nature, a man of patience & logic, and who makes an impression on everyone.

One of the best liners is when Warden Samuel Norton's says "I believe in two things: discipline and the Bible. Here you'll receive both. Put your trust in the Lord; your ass belongs to me. Welcome to Shawshank."

2. The Godfather - Part 1
I doubt if anyone doesn't know about Don Vito Corleone - Marlon Brando 's dream role; Al Pacino path to glory. This film made the Corleones a household name and Don is the character that every artist would like to do.

3. Schindler's List
Story of an unsuccessful businessman who wanted to make profits from the war situation and how he saves a few hundred lives from going to the concentration camps. This one liner at the end of the film -- It's Hebrew, it's from the Talmud. It says, "Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire" epitomizes the story.

4. The Godfather - Part 2
Don makes the entry once again and with 2 of the greatest actors Hollywood ever produced -- Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, this is definitely a masterpiece. This is the best performance of Al Pacino's in his long and illustrious film career.

5. The Dark Knight
Reinvented, excellent storyline and characterization, this would make to the top 5 films of all time. Depicts the struggle against the new forms of evil (Joker), a memorable role played by Heath Ledger. Gotham city is still fine!!

A few superb lines are when the Joker says "If you're good at something never do it for free."

Bruce Wayne: The bandit, in the forest in Burma, did you catch him?
Alfred Pennyworth: Yes.
Bruce Wayne: How?
Alfred Pennyworth: We burned the forest down.
